Excavation pits

With the introduction of Eurocode 7-1 "Design, Calculation, and Dimensioning in Geotechnics - Part 1: General Rules," including the national annex and DIN 1054: 2010-12 "Geotechnical Safety Verification in Earth and Foundation Engineering - Supplementary Rules to DIN 1997-1," as well as amendments A1: 2012 and A2: 2015-11, an adjustment of the second edition was necessary. The revision was used to revisit the original idea of Anton Weissenbach to comprehensively address the subject in four volumes. The topics: - Construction and Execution - Calculation Fundamentals - Calculation Methods - Excavation Enclosure in Special Cases have all been compiled into a single book in this third edition. The calculation examples have also been adapted to the Eurocode 7 Handbook, Volume 1, and expanded to include an excavation with a post-tensioned concrete base.
