Product details

Jakob Wassermann (1873-1934) published the extensive novel "Etzel Andergast" in 1931, which, along with "Der Fall Maurizius" (1928) and the novel "Joseph Kerkhovens dritte Existenz," released shortly before his death in 1934, forms a trilogy. The novel centers around Marie Bergmann and the young Etzel Andergast, one of the main characters from "Der Fall Maurizius." Marie had already left her first husband for another man, and now she falls head over heels in love with the fourteen years younger Etzel, thereby invoking a catastrophe.
