Goslar 1527: Heinrich the Younger, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, demands the shares of the silver, lead, and copper-rich Rammelsberg from the free imperial city. The city fiercely resists, determined not to lose the source of its wealth. In the midst of the conflicts, a leading council member, the metal trader Ludolf Walberg, is found dead, pierced by an arrow. Was it the act of a ducal marksman? When the long-distance merchant Friedrich von Mellnau moves into the Worth Quarter with his assistant Georg Basler, he is served the fresh murder story.
