Eugen Huber hört Rudolf von Jhering

RUDOLF VON JHERING has shaped German-language jurisprudence in many ways. He is one of the few jurists who have invented "new legal figures": The terms "culpa in contrahendo" and the "legal second" were newly introduced and popularised by him. In his first edition of the "Obligationenrecht Allgemeiner Teil", EUGEN BUCHER wrote in 1979: "The legal concept of culpa in contrahendo (c.i.c.) was developed by Rud. von Jhering and has subsequently had a decisive influence on the development of law. "
The young EUGEN HUBER attended lectures by JHERING in Vienna in 1872 and 1873. In particular, his understanding of property law made a deep impression on HUBER. Many insights from the lecture in Vienna found their way into the later Swiss Civil Code.
