Since the dawn of humanity, plants have provided us with everything we need to survive – air to breathe, food to eat, materials to make clothing and shelter, as well as medicine to treat and prevent diseases. Their beauty can uplift our spirits and nourish us mentally and emotionally. Western science has discovered and named countless plant species throughout its colonial history. However, many indigenous peoples have known plants for centuries as sentient beings endowed with spirit and power to assist humanity. A unique and beautiful perspective on plants and their role in the lives of peoples around the world.
