Ethik und Wirtschaft

Ethics is a very old topic. However, the connection to economics is still fresh and underdeveloped. There are real reasons for the relevance of this issue, and at the same time, there are doubts about whether we – particularly economists – have found the right approaches to economic ethics. Too many experts have isolated themselves in their own specialized thinking and dismiss ideas that seek to open new paths with their prickly side. My fundamental thesis in this paper is: The ethics of practical economics does not need to be invented; rather, it can be distilled and articulated as a doctrine of moral strength from the elemental components of practical economics.
