When the symptoms become automated, compulsive addictive behavior develops. This serves to release unbearable states of perception and emotion, which in turn activates the reward system. From this, the author has developed a new therapeutic approach. She explains the causes and treatment options for children and adolescents with anorexia, bulimia, and obesity in a professional and clear manner. She also explores the connection between ADHD and eating disorders.
