Abstract: This thesis aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current status of ESG practices and seeks to offer a more specific understanding of sustainable investment with ESG funds. The following points were addressed: Sustainability and ESG funds, the current status of ESG practices, sustainability from the perspective of German private investors, Kiviat diagram - comparison of target and actual ESG implementation, development potential of ESG funds, critical analysis of current ESG implementation. Consequently, this work serves as a good introduction to the topic of ESG. Fundamental terms are clarified, and the scientific framework is clearly outlined and defined. The reader thus has the opportunity to gradually familiarize themselves with the subject area. Basic mechanisms in ESG implementation are described and analyzed. The thesis is completed with a critical evaluation.
