This book describes a comprehensive combination of methods that significantly enhance the modern Virtual Prototype (VP)-based verification flow for heterogeneous Systems-on-Chip (SoCs). In particular, the book integrates verification and analysis aspects across various stages of the VP-based verification flow and offers a new perspective on verification by employing advanced techniques such as metamorphic testing, data flow testing, and information flow testing. Furthermore, the book places a strong emphasis on advanced, coverage-oriented methods for verifying the functional behavior of the SoC and ensuring its safety. It provides a thorough introduction to the modern VP-based verification process for heterogeneous SoCs, presents a novel metamorphic testing technique for heterogeneous SoCs that does not require reference models, and includes automated, advanced, data flow coverage-based methods tailored for SystemC/AMS-based VPs. Additionally, it describes enhanced functional coverage-driven methods for verifying various functional behaviors of RF amplifiers.
