Enabling everyday actions: the guidelines of occupational therapy as tools for practice, education, and research. Improving practice, enhancing quality of care, saving costs, and increasing client satisfaction: the demands on therapeutic health professions are high. Practice guidelines provide information and interventions - systematically and evidence-based. They support all healthcare staff in their decision-making and promote a system focused on the quality of healthcare. The guidelines of occupational therapy are based on peer-reviewed interventions primarily from Level I to Level III studies. The editor and translator of the German edition are experienced experts from practice, research, and education.

Volume 16: Adults with arthritis and rheumatic diseases. Autoimmune diseases such as arthritis and other rheumatic conditions can strike suddenly. They invade the body, wreaking havoc with pain and swelling in the joints, and when they recede, they leave behind traces that make patients' daily lives unpredictable: alongside impaired activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), there is a risk of reduced work capacity, potentially leading to job loss - the result of a vicious cycle of pain, limited mobility, and depression.
