ERP-System im Mittelstand: Wirtschaftlichkeitsanalyse eines Luftfahrtunternehmens
Sabrina Meinel, 2010Product details
Due to extensive market saturation trends and increasing cost and competitive pressure, not only large companies but also small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are facing intense competitive pressure. To remain competitive in this constantly changing environment, companies are forced to enhance efficiency and streamline operations. On one hand, they must distinguish themselves from competitors through maximum product and production flexibility, high quality, and rapid responsiveness to changes from suppliers and customers. On the other hand, companies should accelerate their internal processes, better serve their customers, and enable their employees to work more efficiently and productively. These demands for rational business organization can no longer be met solely with manual means or IT support programs. A crucial component for the long-term survival of SMEs is the implementation of enterprise-wide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, which help address the challenges of a specific market while achieving a high degree of integration and networking. This study focuses on a medium-sized aviation company that has implemented such a system in recent years and has accordingly restructured its business processes. Sabrina Meinel examines and analyzes the economic impacts. Furthermore, she provides recommendations for action that could further improve the financial situation of the medium-sized aviation company and make it even more competitive in the future.
