In recent years, the goals of nutritional therapy for food allergies and other food intolerances have become significantly more diverse. The content is tailored individually to each patient and their environment. Thus, nutritional therapy continues to lay the foundation for personalized and effective disease management. However, it has never been as customized as it is today. A clear medical diagnosis remains crucial for any type of therapeutic diet. Restrictions are only justifiable in nutritional therapy to the extent that they are truly necessary. Consequently, good collaboration between allergists and nutrition professionals experienced in allergies is of great importance. This is also reflected in the guidelines of the Food Allergy Working Group of the German Society for Allergology and Clinical Immunology: The role of the certified nutrition professional is firmly established not only therapeutically but also diagnostically in cases of food allergies. The current edition of the book "Nutritional Therapy for Food Allergies and Other Intolerances" has been supplemented with important contributions published in the journal Allergologie in recent years. More than ever, the book can provide insight into the diverse activities of nutrition professionals working in allergy and, of course, continue to serve as a reference work.
