Product details
Based on an analysis of the crisis of the global biosphere and its significance for sustainable development, the scientists derive principles for a successful international biosphere policy. The advisory board operates on the premise that the conservation and sustainable use of the biosphere must be viewed in an integrated manner. Policy advice is provided on a wide range of topics: from bioprospecting to sustainable land use, from bioregional management to conservation, from combating the exploitation of natural resources to Earth system analysis. Special emphasis is placed on recommendations for the further development of the Biodiversity Convention, international scientific policy advice, biosphere research, and the financial frameworks for biosphere policy.
