Knife defence is one of the most challenging and controversial topics in martial arts and self-defence. Demanding, because everyone is aware of the immense danger of a knife attack - controversial, because every representative of a certain style considers his or her way of approaching it to be the only true one. Often, however, the traditional, stylized defensive maneuvers have nothing in common with a "modern" knife attack scenario. The present book deliberately refrains from classifying them in a particular martial art or technique, but rather obeys the expediency alone.
