Entomology not only deals with insects but also with the relationships between these animals and humans, other organisms, and the environment. The transfer of pollen from the anthers of a plant to the stigma of another plant, which subsequently allows for fertilization and the formation of seeds, is usually carried out by an animal or the wind. Plants that are pollinated by abiotic factors like wind typically produce large amounts of pollen and lack nectar, scents, or bright colors, as they do not need to attract organisms. In contrast, plants that are pollinated by biotic agents exhibit a range of adaptations that ensure the attraction of living beings and provide subsequent rewards.
