"Discoverer" is a foolhardy poetics from the synthesis of language and natural science. Each of the six parts - "Microorganisms" (bestiary), "Minerals", "Geology" (cartography), "Gravity", "States of Aggregation", "Time" - follows a different approach and yet all are organically connected to each other. Raphaela Edelbauer tries with her prose debut nothing less than to oppose our natural history of modern times, with its systematics, combinatorics and logic, with its own poetic logic and to cancel it out with the means of language.
