Emotionelle Erste Hilfe in der Klinik

The concept of Emotional First Aid (EEH) presents an innovative approach to promoting bonding in clinical practice. The authors describe, both theoretically and practically, how professionals in public health institutions can support parents and their babies in establishing a sustainable relationship. Physical approaches are utilized to enhance the emotional regulation and sensitivity of the affected parents and the accompanying professionals. At the core is the development of an embodied self-connection that strengthens the sense of safety and relationship competence of all parties involved during the early stages of life. The authors encourage professionals from the fields of early prevention, obstetrics, pediatric nursing, pediatrics, psychotherapy, and physiotherapy to implement EEH in their practice, with contributions from Gertraud Rastner.
