Fanni Rot and Commissioner Sprudel had nothing more exciting in mind than a hike to the Great Falkenstein. However, the trip proves to be consequential, as Fanni discovers the body of a young woman not far from the summit cross. Before they know it, Fanni and Sprudel find themselves in the midst of an investigation – and shortly after, there is a second victim. Why, Fanni wonders, did two young women have to die a violent death? Where do all the germs that were thought to be eradicated come from?
