Book Jumper
Author Mechthild Gläser humorously revisits a literary theme in this fantasy novel. To mark the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's death, she adapts characters and motifs from the beloved author's works, weaving together some of the most beautiful love stories in literary history while creating her own fantastic tale filled with surprises.
When Emma discovers an old notebook while tidying up the library at her boarding school, she initially thinks it is a kind of chronicle of the school. But it is quite the opposite: everything written in this book actually comes true. Naturally, Emma immediately begins to "correct" the daily life at Castle Stolzenburg a bit. However, nothing happens as she envisioned. Especially since previous chroniclers have also used the book. For example, a young Englishwoman who wrote a fairy tale about a faun in the late 18th century and later became a successful author. Or Gina, who suddenly disappeared four years ago after confiding her secrets to the chronicle. Now, with Gina's brother Darcy getting involved, chaos ensues. Because Emma and Darcy are bound by a heartfelt dislike for each other – or at least that’s what they both believe.
