Early childhood education processes are important for the further (learning) biographical stages of children's lives. This volume focuses on how these educational processes can be stimulated and accompanied in the best possible way in various fields of elementary education and institutions. The articles cover a wide range of topics and provide concrete practical ideas that facilitate the transfer of the knowledge presented.
In the first part, fundamental aspects of elementary education are discussed. In addition to essential questions regarding early education, upbringing and care, emotional and social as well as cognitive development are addressed and current discourses in the areas of human and children's rights, inclusion, diversity with a focus on gender and digital media education are highlighted. The second part of the volume focuses on the analysis and discussion of subject-specific content. The articles written by experienced educators on the educational areas of language, mathematics, nature and technology, music, movement and rhythm/music and movement offer valuable and practice-relevant suggestions. The third part focuses on the religion-sensitive education and upbringing of children. Here, exemplary knowledge about religious practices, customs and rituals, values and educational issues are shown which are necessary for mindful guidance.
