Product details
Electrical engineering vs. mechanical engineering, a classic conflict for all parties involved, because the electrical equipment of a machine is only one part of a machine. The mechanical engineer is usually responsible for the execution and function of a machine as a whole. The book contains practical interpretation aids for all sections of DIN EN 60204-1 (VDE 0113-1) 'Safety of machinery - Electrical equipment of machines' in which the requirements are specified. The standard covers the extensive range of electrical equipment for small machines up to large machinery systems. In this edition, the chapter 'Laws, standards and contracts' has been completely revised and expanded. Practical interpretation aids for DIN EN 60204-1 (VDE 0113-1). . Presentation of the integration of the standard into the concept of machine safety and the European standards. . Explanations, comments and listed examples enable the essential protection objectives of the standard to be understood and implemented. This book shows how the standard is integrated into the concept of machine safety in accordance with the European Machinery Directive and the relevant national and European standards. It explains why neither a declaration of conformity nor a 'declaration of incorporation of partly completed machinery' according to the Machinery Directive is required for the electrical equipment of a machine. Likewise, it is explained why the specialist planner of the electrical equipment does not usually have to carry out the risk assessment to determine a specific SIL or PL for the functional safety of safety-related control systems. The book takes a detailed position on the necessity of complying with the European directives that have been legally implemented in Germany.
