Why does a successful comic author write poetry? Because he wants to create his own images, solely from his language. Ice Fishing is Markus Kirchhofer's first solo publication. It comprises 100 poems: vivid, poetic, profound, keenly observed scenes and moods sketched with few strokes. Ice Fishing is Markus Kirchhofer's twelfth book: between 1992 and 2010, Kirchhofer published ten comics and in 2011 a picture book with poems. Five vignettes by Reto Gloor adorn Ice Fishing.
