This book presents the extraordinary services of blockchain to provide a decentralized and distributed storage service that offers security, integrity, authenticity, attack, and privacy capabilities for VANET. It thoroughly investigates where and how blockchain can be implemented in this field, and also analyzes the application and efficiency. Initially, a secure message transmission procedure for cluster-based VANETs was implemented, followed by another method using blockchain to address the authentication problem. Several new steps were taken for the system's implementation, such as updating the MAC packet structure and the multi-layer blockchain structure. The performance analysis is compelling and demonstrates that the proposed method is more economical in terms of storage and computation time. The proposed methods ensure integrity, non-repudiation, immutability, privacy protection, and protection against attacks. The results of this book have been recognized by several high-ranking journals through the publication of three of the papers.
