"A Love, in Thoughts" tells a story of love and life lies, of the hopes and dreams of the generation born during the war, and of the sense of upheaval and change in the 1960s. Kristine Bilkau holds up a mirror to us: How much intensity, risk, and pain do we allow when it comes to our feelings and relationships? Hamburg, 1964. Antonia and Edgar seem made for each other. They share the dream of a future far from their origins. Born during the war and raised with hardship and repression, they want to explore the world, to live and love differently than their parents. Edgar seizes the opportunity to establish an office for a foreign trade company in Hong Kong. Toni is to follow as soon as he has settled in. After a year of postponements, Toni breaks off the engagement. She no longer wants to wait and hope, but to finally move on with her life. Toni's and Edgar's lives begin to diverge.
