Charlène is a vivacious woman who drinks and smokes and wears her heart on her sleeve. She is in her early sixties, both of her children have moved out, and unfortunately, a replacement for her deceased husband has not yet been found. To discuss this issue, the mother calls her daughter, and we listen in. They talk about dating, TV shows, the dog... But they also address more serious matters - the emptiness that sometimes surrounds her, or her serious illness. Nevertheless, the calls almost always end in laughter. Charlène is selfish, politically incorrect, rude, accusatory, and contradictory. Yet, she is also caring, tender, and fragile. It's impossible to stay mad at her for long...
