Ein WebGIS-Tool zur Standortbewertung für denEinzelhandel

To make business decisions, especially location decisions, more quickly and effectively, geographic information systems are increasingly being used in medium and large companies. However, these systems are often unprofitable for many small businesses due to their high acquisition and maintenance costs. Therefore, this work designed a WebGIS tool for location assessment in retail and realized a type of prototype. The focus was primarily on addressing smaller retail businesses as a potential target group. Since WIGeoGIS GmbH in Munich expressed interest in implementing such a WebGIS tool, the opportunity arose to carry out the practical part of the project in collaboration with the company. From the knowledge gained in the WebGIS field and in the location planning process of retail branches, a prototype of an internet-based GIS application was developed that meets the requirements of both an innovative WebGIS and effective location assessment in retail.
