Product details
The real estate sector is one of the most recognized sectors worldwide. In India, the real estate sector is the second-largest employer after agriculture and is expected to grow by 30 percent over the next ten years. The real estate sector comprises four sub-sectors: residential, retail, hospitality, and commercial. The growth of this sector is well complemented by the growth of the business environment and the demand for office spaces as well as urban and semi-urban housing. The construction industry ranks third among the 14 key sectors in terms of direct, indirect, and induced effects across all economic sectors. Inflows of private equity into office and IT/ITES real estate increased by 150 percent between 2014 and 2017, reflecting the strong appeal of the office sector. In 2017, 6.4 million square meters of new retail space were completed, and around 20 million square meters are expected to be available in 2019.
