It omits the familiar and highlights the absurd. It is always succinct, yet has a long reach. Eich's humor is melancholic. He shines with wordplay like a Shakespearean fool, who can speak the truth through distortions. He is as unpredictable as a mole, leading the reader through dark corridors and shafts into comical landscapes of insight that have yet to be charted on the map of literature.
