Product details
The moving memories of a childhood as a Jewish girl in Poland during World War II. When the Germans invade Poland in 1939, the idyllic world of the Jewish girl Janina is shattered in an instant. Janina is ten years old and grows up well-protected in Poland. But the Davids are Jews. When the Germans invade the country in 1939, their world is destroyed in a flash. Together with her parents, Janina must flee from the bombs. Later that same year, the family is taken to the Warsaw Ghetto. For Janina, the sky is now just a distant blue over the backyards.
