Ein schönes Paar

While clearing out his parents' house, photographer Philipp comes across an object that played a crucial role in his parents' history. Herta and Georg were a beautiful couple. Philipp remembers their youthful love, their hopes and vulnerabilities, and his father's hasty escape from East Germany to the West. This could have marked the beginning of a fulfilled life, as his mother and the boy followed a few days later, but in reality, the escape carried the seed of misfortune within it. Gradually, Philipp realizes the paradox of his parents' relationship: that it was love that destroyed their love. However, this does not mean the story, which has also overshadowed his life, is over. In the end, he discovers that Herta and Georg were connected all those years in a way that they never revealed to anyone, not even to themselves.
