When Cooper O'Connor, son of a well-known itinerant preacher, leaves his father head over heels at the age of 18, he dreams of a music career in faraway Nashville. In his luggage he has a guitar and the conviction that he will make it with his extraordinary talent. But the calculation does not work out. Only when Cooper meets the musician Daley Cross, a vocal wonder in search of good songs, his luck finally seems to turn. But he becomes the victim of a tragedy that destroys not only his career but also his life. Now there is only one place of refuge for him: his father's cabin high up in the mountains of Colorado.
