Ein Brasilianer in Berlin - Um Brasileiro em Berlim

João Ubaldo Ribeiro came to Berlin in 1990 as a DAAD scholarship holder for fifteen months. During that time, when Germans were primarily focused on themselves a year after the fall of the Wall, the Frankfurter Rundschau asked him to share his impressions and experiences in monthly contributions for the newspaper - observations and thoughts of a Brazilian in Berlin, insights from an outsider. This led to the creation of columns about the Germans, the author himself, and his family, often discussing the relationships between the two countries and peoples. The columns were later published in book form in both Brazil and Germany. The edition now available combines the original Portuguese text and the German translation for the first time.
