Product details

The keywords demographic changes or demographic developments are encountered almost daily. This is not surprising, as these developments impact nearly all areas of daily life. From an economic perspective in Germany, this also includes the personnel policy component. In some sectors, there is already a shortage of skilled workers and young talent, while others are predicted to face this issue. Nursing homes are already affected by the shortage of skilled workers today. In light of these demographic and societal changes, which particularly include increasing cultural diversity, a shifting gender ratio, and a widening age gap in Germany, there is an urgent need for action in corporate management. Through strategically oriented diversity management, which aims to consciously strengthen and utilize a diverse workforce, companies can address demographic change. Therefore, the goal of this book is to demonstrate how diversity management can contribute to dealing with a diverse workforce in general and specifically in a nursing facility, as well as how it represents a strategic innovation in controlling. The author addresses a current topic at the intersection of management, personnel, organization, and controlling. She deals with the elaboration of a current issue, for which a general theoretical solution is outlined (integration of the diversity aspect into the balanced scorecard), as well as an independent solution (diversity scorecard) developed for those nursing homes that have so far operated without strategic controlling and thus also without a balanced scorecard.
