Bernd Schmidt, Dr. phil., studied economics and earned a doctorate in education and psychology. He has received further training in body therapy, Gestalt therapy, conversational psychotherapy, transactional analysis, and systemic family therapy, as well as in NLP and hypnosis. He is a teaching trainer for the International Transactional Analysis Society and other organizations in the fields of psychotherapy, coaching, supervision, systemic counseling, and organizational and human resource development. Bernd Schmidt is the founder and director of the Institute for Systemic Consulting in Wiesloch since 1984. He is also a co-founder and chairman of the executive committee of the German Federal Coaching Association (DBVC), founder and longtime chairman of the Society for Further Education and Supervision (GWS), and co-founder of forum humanum. He has numerous written and audio publications and was the 2007 winner of the Eric Berne Memorial Award from the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA).
