A representation of the oldest experiences of Christians regarding the topics of sex and gender roles is a pressing need. One will be astonished to find that in Jesus' proclamation, a rather critical view of family is followed by a phase that affirms marriage. He vehemently opposed discrimination, and in his circle, women are not only responsible for the Easter faith but also for the development of Christology. The book reaches its climax with the interpretation of the 5th chapter of the Letter to the Ephesians: The bridal and marital love between a man and a woman serves as a model and template for the relationship of the Messiah to his people. In his new book, Klaus Berger gently and provocatively outlines lines that lead from the New Testament to a sexual ethics of the future, providing building blocks for a biblical sexual morality for the future. The question is whether there is a connection between the faith in the triune God, who is the God of Abraham, and the relationship between man and woman, sexuality and marriage, family and church. For whether the Bible has anything to say on these topics and what that might look like when presented anew is increasingly questionable and no longer taken for granted. I believe that the relationship between man and woman, the controversial program "Marriage for All," sexuality, and early enlightenment are not the most important issues, but rather the eternally second most important ones.
