Product details
The first series of transformations arises from a journey that David Weiss undertakes in 1975, feeling utterly unhappy after his girlfriend Carmen entered into a relationship with the Zurich revolutionary Guy Barrier. The journey takes him through Yorkshire, England, to Morocco, where David spends an extended period in Marrakech. Without knowing in advance what he wants to draw, he begins at the top left edge of the paper, starting with a swirl, an arrow, or a cube. From this cube, a matchbox emerges, a matchbox adorned with the image of a lion, inside the box a small deer, which transforms into a bone, the bone into a little figure, which pushes with all its might against the side walls until the box breaks apart. The figure is startled, looking over the edge of the newly formed surface into the depths below. The page ends with a K.
