Product details
They had the impression of clinging too much to traditional customs. A modernization was needed: flowing full beards. Soon after, they erected palisades, populated untouched lands, and entrenched themselves behind their facial adornments. Evolution played its part, and thus a long, carefree time passed. It was not until the age of European expansion that this peculiar breed was rediscovered, with full beards perceived as an alluring raw material, and the beard wearers increasingly exploited in the process of their extraction, later primarily assimilated back in Switzerland. This book is a testament to their uniqueness. It documents their existence through found photographs. The book spans the period from 1880 to 1980 and concludes with the last known image of this type of people.
