Product details

A thriller from Olten. The novel begins as an unusual love story, which soon develops into a sophisticated political crime narrative. "Waser" is a modern parable about unorthodox leftist resistance in reactionary times. It is a thrillingly told story that sheds light on the depths of recent Swiss history. In the spring of 1990, after the Fichen affair has reached its peak, the thirty-something Eric Waser returns from a long trip. At the Olten train station, he is unexpectedly picked up by Vreni König, whom he had met shortly before his vacation at a party. After a shared dinner, they head to Eric's regular pub, where they meet his brother Tom, who entertains Vreni with stories from Eric's youth. It is only when Tom brings up the Fichen scandal that Eric learns the rough outlines of it.
