Product details
The book "Ecological Migration" offers a comprehensive analysis of ecological migration in the context of global environmental issues. It examines the organized migration of people whose professions contribute to ecological destruction, with the aim of rehabilitating and preserving the affected areas. In particular, the situation in the arid and semi-arid regions of Inner Mongolia is considered, where overgrazing threatens grassland vegetation. The authors discuss the outcomes of this strategy, the preservation of grasslands, and the possibilities for preventing desertification in the region. The essays collected in this volume stem from a workshop held in Beijing in 2004 and have been published in several languages. They serve as teaching material at universities in Japan and China and have been updated and translated for the English edition.
