H stellt sich vor

H, the letter H, appears as the only sound in all known languages. In the beginning, H thinks, there was not the word, as the Semites mistakenly believed, but a whispered sound from which everything else emerged. In 1999, Felix Kauf and Michel Mettler began sending each other episodes centered around H. This resulted in 87 short and very short stories that revolve around the flâneur of the 2000s: amusing, enlightening, and often revealing snapshots. In a loose sequence, they depict H, completely absorbed in itself and always concerned with its effect, in everyday situations that are anything but ordinary, as H's presence transforms them into funhouse mirrors. The visual artist Andres Lutz (Lutz & Guggisberg) was inspired by this to create his own illustrative world of H.
