For five years, he waits in prison with the patience of a predator. Finally, his chance to escape presents itself, and he flees into the forests of Spessart. The next day, two police tracking dogs are found with their throats slit. A police officer is killed. At the same time, Simon Kerner is spending his vacation in his hunting grounds in Spessart.
