The textbook for the training of road construction workers builds on the learning fields of the basic level and presents a comprehensive, real road construction project that encompasses all learning fields of the specialized levels I and II. This makes the learning material visually accessible for students, allowing them to overview the individual tasks without losing sight of the connection between all construction tasks. Numerous examples and exercises promote holistic, student-active learning. Thus, the book is optimally tailored to action- and competence-oriented teaching, with realistic images supporting learning success.

The project involves the development of a commercial area between residential buildings and a federal highway. Existing roads need to be expanded, extended, and new commercial roads constructed. A ring road will be created, which connects to the federal highway via a roundabout. The road space design includes sidewalks, parks, and tree plantings. Green zones will be established as compensation areas. The complete site plans, elevation plan, and sewer plan of the project can be downloaded and viewed.

The 2022 edition has been updated to reflect the latest developments in technology and standards in both text and images. The following changes from the previous edition should be particularly noted:
