The textbook for the training of road builders builds on the learning fields of the basic level (ISBN: 978-3-582-11970-4) and shows a continuous, real road construction project on which all learning fields of the technical levels I and II can be worked on. In this way, the learning material is clearly presented to the students and they can keep track of the subtasks without losing sight of the context of all construction tasks. Numerous examples and tasks promote holistic, student-active learning. The book is thus optimally tailored to activity- and competence-oriented teaching, and the realistic pictures support successful learning.
The project involves the development of a commercial area between residential buildings and a main road. For this purpose, existing roads have to be extended and new industrial roads have to be built. The result is a ring road that connects to the main road via a roundabout. The streetscape design consists of pavements, park and tree planting. Green zones will be established as compensation areas. The complete site plans, the elevation plan and the sewer site plan of the project can be downloaded and viewed using a QR code or via a web link.
The new edition 2022 has been brought up to date with regard to the current developments in technology and standardisation in words and pictures. The following changes to the previous edition can be pointed out in particular:

In the course of the revision, illustrations were exchanged or updated.
In learning field 7, the topic "frost effect" was revised and examples of control plans according to the current RSA were presented.
Learning field 8 was supplemented according to the new DIN EN ISO 14688-1 national annex (naming and labelling of soils). The section on "Slope safety" has been revised.
