Ursula Rychen has a talent for weaving the past with the present. She tells her stories in a wonderful dialect that never sounds pretentious or exaggerated, but rather fits into our world, just like she does. She captures everyday problems and curiosities from yesterday, as well as those of today. We soon realize that often these issues in our time are the same as when men wouldn't go out without a hat and a Boschettli—because the world may change, but human nature does not. The author has filled a basket once again with delightful columns and presents them in a little book that makes us smile and reflect, laugh out loud, and sometimes even swallow hard. The wonderful thing is: you enjoy it from A to Z. The frustrating part is: you can't put the stories down. And in the end, you might find a completely burnt apple pie in the oven or have simply missed an absolutely crucial publisher meeting. But it's worth it.
