E-Government, Open Government und Smart Government - Nachhaltige Digitalisierung von Staat, Städten

Volume 23 of the TOGI series publishes twelve selected lectures from the TOGI Symposium 2021, which was held with the support of a virtual conference platform on June 23 and 24, 2021. The authors address current developments in e-government, open government, smart government, and digital education through the newly established eGov-Campus. The digitization of the state, cities, and administration gained visibility and relevance in 2021 due to the Corona pandemic and elections at both state and federal levels. A symposium in the summer of 2021 on the current state of e-government, open government, smart government, artificial intelligence in the public sector, and the eGov-Campus was particularly timely. At the same time, the question arose whether the existing activities and measures were sufficient or if more needed to be done to prepare public administration for the real challenges of a digital future in the 2020s. The TOGI Symposium 2021 provided a space for exchange, ideas, and discussions on all these issues.
