The fascination with Romania has always been great for Mirko Kaupat, a German journalist, travel guide author, and Eastern Europe expert living in Warsaw. For over a decade, he has been traveling across the multi-ethnic state and cannot get enough of the incredible diversity of this multifaceted country, from the remote Danube Delta to the vibrant capital and the still adventurous Carpathian passes, to the idyllic towns of Transylvania. Silviu Mihai was born in Romania in 1978. He studied politics and philosophy in Bucharest and Budapest and has been working as a freelance journalist and Eastern Europe correspondent for several German-language publications since 2009. Since then, he has been constantly commuting between Berlin and Romania, traveling the country in search of stories, time and again with consistent Balkan adventurousness, and eating far more Romanian specialties than would be healthy.
