The True Value of Art
Summary:
Why does contemporary art often look like it just came out of the trash rather than the studio? And why are millions paid for it? Saehrendt and Kittl speak frankly. They humorously delve into the madness of the art world, without regard for landmines and pitfalls. With "Is This Art or Can It Go?" the author duo finally presents the sequel to the bestseller "I Can Do That Too!"
Record prices, forgery scandals, hollow mass events, and garish VIP glamour: these are the buzzwords that dominate the art world. Yet the true meaning of art gets lost amid all this clutter. Saehrendt and Kittl pinpoint the real value of art beyond its market value - for art haters, art connoisseurs, and anyone who wants to know why engaging with art is worthwhile.
"Ruthless, very entertaining, with expertise and a lot of wit" Tanja Küchle, HR2
