D.U. Bayern is specially designed for the LehrplanPLUS and promotes narration, information, and argumentation in separate chapters. It guides learning with audio texts, videos, and film clips, and promotes all sub-processes of writing. Charly's language check offers targeted language training on pages specifically designed for this purpose and supports the repetition of basic knowledge.

The learning tasks in D.U. create a student-oriented learning environment where individual learning processes are controlled by graded tasks. In the sequence of tasks for finding, acquiring, discussing, and using, students follow transparent learning paths to acquire knowledge and develop competencies. The resulting learning products become the subject of lesson discussions, providing feedback on individual learning status and supporting further lesson planning.
