A passionate love that finds no fulfillment in life and no peace in death. The foundling Heathcliff grows up with the Earnshaw family on the Wuthering Heights estate in Yorkshire. He shares a deep friendship with their tempestuous and passionate daughter, Catherine. When the stepbrother succumbs to alcoholism and gambling addiction after their father's death and terrorizes them both, Catherine decides, against her feelings, to marry the wealthy and respected neighbor, Edgar Linton. The deeply wounded Heathcliff then vows to take revenge on both families.
