Product details
The catastrophe came in the autumn and struck them without warning. It cast no shadows and moved completely silently. At no point did she have any idea of what was happening. When the archaeologist Louise Cantor travels from her excavation in Greece to give a lecture in Sweden, she also wants to see her 25-year-old son again. But when she enters the apartment in Stockholm, Henrik lies dead in his bed. The police suspect suicide, but Louise cannot believe that. In her son's wardrobe, she finds a lot of material regarding the question of why John F. Kennedy's brain disappeared without a trace after the autopsy. Was Henrik on the trail of a criminal secret? The more she learns about his life, the clearer it becomes to her how little she actually knew her son. In search of clues that could explain his death, she travels to Australia to find her missing ex-husband and follows Henrik's traces from Barcelona to Mozambique. There, she discovers a shelter for impoverished AIDS patients, where her son also worked, established by a wealthy white man for seemingly selfless reasons. But Louise soon suspects that a monstrous humanitarian scandal lies behind it.
