In Åre, you know your neighbors. But you don't trust them. A series of mysterious deaths haunts the mountain village of Åre in northern Sweden. The victims have one thing in common: they were all very old and dependent on help every day. Although none of the bodies show signs of external violence, Hanna Ahlander suspects that something is wrong. She stands alone with her suspicion, as she can no longer count on the support of her closest colleague, Daniel Lindskog, since a heated argument. As unpredictable thawing weather complicates Hanna's investigations in wintery Åre and the conflict with Daniel escalates further, another dead body is found. Hanna knows that time is running out – but to prevent more people from being murdered, she and Daniel must find their way back to each other.
